Start the 2011-12 season with
a return trip to Montana’s newest resort!
This year, we will be
returning to Big Mountain, but they have changed their name to Whitefish
Mountain. And with an annual snowfall exceeding 300 inches, you can
expect great ski conditions while skiing through the “Snowghosts”!
Whitefish is located at the
southern entrance to Glacier National Park. Take one of your off days
of skiing and travel the “Road to the Sun”. You’ll see frozen
waterfalls, snow-filled forests, and wildlife that appreciate the
serenity as much as you. Also available to you are snowmobile and
dog-sled excursions into the snow-covered forests of Whitefish.
There are a number of ski
areas within an hour or so if you want to travel off to a new place to
ski for the day. There are many great restaurants and pubs in Whitefish,
and a trip there is not complete until you have had one of Loula’s
freshly homemade pies! We will also be staying at a new facility, the
Whitefish Lodge. It is only one mile from downtown Whitefish and has
complimentary shuttle service. Located on the shore of Whitefish Lake,
it is a AAA Four Diamond property with full service. We will be in the
Viking Lodge which offers fireplace, Microwave and mini-fridge service.
They also offer 2 hot tubs, exercise facilities, full service day spa,
daily maid service and room service are just a few of the amenities you
will find here.
You will no doubt find
Whitefish one of the friendliest places that you have ever been able to
ski. It is one of my favorite places!
