Trip
Participation Policies
Please make sure you review and are aware of these policies!! I want
to avoid hurt feelings and confusion, so please review the following to
avoid future potential issues.
1.
The trips offered by Gateway Ski are not guided or escorted trips.
While we will make every
effort to make certain that your airline tickets are correct, you will
be responsible for checking them against the itinerary to ensure they
are correct with respect to the dates and schedules. We can correct
them here in the U.S. prior to departure, but once you are at your
destination, it can get expensive to make changes. Gateway Ski will
not reimburse you for any additional expenses.
2. In nearly every case, any deviation from the tour
itinerary will have a charge. All deviation requests must
be made in writing and accompanied by payment at the time they are
requested. We buy from Brokers, not travel agents. They deal in bulk
and not individual itineraries.
3. Our European contracts are offered based on the existing
exchange rate. If the Euro goes up, our costs will
go up proportionately. If it goes down, our costs will go down. In
short, if we get surcharged by the hotels and airlines, that increased
cost or savings will be passed along. That has not happened recently,
but just be aware.
4. Space is available on a first come / first served basis.
As usual, we will be unable to accommodate “frequent flyer” or ground
only requests except when offered. One of the primary reasons we are
able to have such reasonable costs is that we purchase package trips.
5. Please note the cancellation schedule:
a. $250.00 from your deposit is non-refundable
b. After 120 days prior to departure an additional $100.00 is
non-refundable
c. After 60 days prior to departure, 50 % of the cost is
non-refundable.
d. After 30 days prior to departure, in addition to the
above amounts, the cost of the land portion of the package is
non-refundable.
e. Any cancellation deadlines imposed by the travel
organizations, hotels or airlines utilized on our trips will be made
part of our policy. If they deviate from the above, you will be
notified.
6. The European trip is offered for the entire itinerary
which will include any extended stopovers scheduled. If
you choose to return home after the skiing portion only, there may be
additional charges to transport you to the
airport for your return home. You will be responsible for any extra
charges for transfers to and from the departure
airport.
7. Any refunds will be made 30 days after the close of the
last trip scheduled for the ski season.
8. If any trip does not fill to the point that the group
pricing is no longer valid, the trip will be canceled and
your full deposits will be refunded.
I believe that in most cases, these items are understood by most of
our members. However, I feel that it is best to explain to you why our
policies have changed, and explain fully our positions and the reasons
for them. I am sure Please that you will understand why we have done
what we have. If you have any questions or comments, let me know.
