Welcome to Gateway Ski Club's official site Gateway Ski Club was founded in the 1987 by individuals in the St Louis area that shared an interest in Nordic pursuits. Since that time the group has grown to over 300 members nationwide. The club typically takes 3 winter trips annually, two in North America and one in Europe. 2009 - 2010 Trips Are Here!!!!
Dear Friends and fellow skiers; Welcome to the 2009-10 Ski Season and Gateway Ski’s 22nd year! Even with the economic challenges facing everyone, we are presenting you with packages that still make skiing in Europe and North America affordable. We have put together a season of skiing vacations that are interesting as well as very affordable. We have also been able to secure a European trip this year that is hundreds of dollars less expensive than last year. We will also be offering all inclusive trips which will include your air, hotel and transportation. While there may be less expensive air fares, cheaper hotels and lift tickets, the experience has been that trying to take advantage of those “bargains” results in a chaotic adventure! I believe that you will find that our schedule of trips this year is very reasonable. We will remain with the reduced sizes of the trips. The trips are more manageable and the feedback is that they are much more enjoyable with the smaller groups. The domestic trips this year have 26 spaces each and the Europe trip has 45 spaces. Once again, we are offering you three great trips this year - Vail, Colorado; Cortina Di Ampezzo, Italy (with extension to Trieste, Italy on the Adriatic Sea) and Telluride, Colorado. Take a look inside for the full details of the trips. There are going to be three new group activities this year. First, there will be an August golf outing at the Falls Golf club which will be a Saturday afternoon scramble followed by a barbeque for the attendees. The second will be the “Gateway Memphis Getaway” weekend in October. Finally, about 10 of just returned from New Orleans where we spent the weekend at the “Jazz and Heritage Festival”. It was such a great time that we decided to offer it as a trip for either the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May of 2010. We will make hotel reservations for you but transportation to both locations will be on your own. Please let me know if you have interest as both events will require some advance planning. Finally, I want you all to know that I greatly appreciate your friendship, counsel and participation in our group activities in the past. I have always felt that these trips and our non -ski functions are comparable to a “family reunion”. Even if you cannot participate in one of the trips, I encourage you to attend the Happy Hours, Parties and other group activities in the future. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you at our club events and on the ski slopes.Hope to see you all soon! |
